‘Lion King’ Remake: Donald Glover Cast as Simba, James Earl Jones Reprised as Mufasa

Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man, Elf and recent Disney live-action remake, Jungle Book, is set to direct the live-action adaption of Lion King. James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa from the original animated version which was released in 1994. Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), a growing frequently casted member of Disney films (Spiderman: Homecoming, Han Solo) will play the Lion King, Simba.


There has been no set release date yet, however, Disney fans are eagerly awaiting for the announcement as Jungle Book was a tremendous hit.
