‘The Last Jedi’ is the Official Title for Upcoming Star Wars Movie

Rian Johnson is the next Director for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII which title’s been announced, The Last Jedi.


Following up from Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, yesterday we saw fans take to Twitter, where official Star Wars account announced the new title.

In the eighth episode, scavenger Rey, rogue Stormtrooper Finn, admirable Resistance pilot Poe and who just may be the “Last Jedi” Luke Skywalker, pursue their epic journey in the next chapter of the Skywalker saga.

Comingsoon.net explain in their report the identity of the Last Jedi to be Luke Skywalker. Said to be the most revealing piece of evidence, we were exposed to the reveal in the opening credits of The Force Awakens. Here is the first paragraph from the crawl, where you find the referencing:

“Luke Skywalker has vanished. In his absence, the sinister first order has risen from the ashes of the Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the last Jedi, has been destroyed.”

Star Wars Episode 8 will hit theatres in December 2017.
